Called “The Other Side of the Coin”…

A leaked list of trophies for new DLC for Bethesda’s Dishonored has hit the web. Apparently called “The Other Side of the Coin,” the DLC will supposedly take place in the Rothwild Slaughterhouse and the home of Thalia Timish, according to a post on Eurogamer. The trophy list was posted on PS3 Trophies, which offers up ten different challenges for players to unlock in The Other Side of the Coin.

Even with the list, there’s no release date, price, or even official announcement for any forthcoming DLC for Dishonored, so it’s unclear when or if The Other Side of the Coin might come out. However, about a week ago, it was reported that ZeniMax, the parent company for Dishonored’s publisher, Bethesda Softworks, had filed for two trademarks that many speculated to be related to Dishonored. That, too, has not been confirmed by Bethesda.

Of course, we know that more Dishonored DLC is on the way. We just don’t know when, or quite what it’ll be. Stay tuned.

Surely Jim Carrey's finest role to date.

It seems that buying and playing a used game for the PlayStation Vita won’t let you earn trophies—at least, not without a little monkeying around first. Apparently, when you boot up a used game, the system provides you with a little warning:

“You cannot earn trophies in this application. Only the first player to use an application can earn trophies. To earn trophies, you must link the Sony Entertainment Network account of the first player to use this application with the PS Vita system.”

Which, you know, is kind of a big load of horseshit. Fortunately, the folks over at PocketGamer have worked out a very easy-seeming fix to get around Sony’s weird pseudo DRM. Basically, when you’re first presented with the above message, hit “No,” as in, “No, I don’t want to play this dumb game I can’t earn trophies in right now.”

Then, touch-and-hold the screen at the main menu, as you would if you wanted to rearrange icons or set new wallpaper. Instead, though, hit the ellipsis (fancy talk for “…”) that pops up above the icon of the used game you’ve installed, and hit “Delete,” then “OK.” Then you’re all set, homie.

Happy Leap Day!

Sony posted a follow-up Q&A yesterday that carried a few bits of good news. I guess the news isn’t good, but it’s not as terrible as the news they’ve been revealing lately, so that’s a change for the better. According to the post, all trophies, friend lists, settings, download history, and PSN+ cloud saves will be intact and available for all users once the network comes back. In addition, Sony makes passing mention of a “goodwill gesture” that will be extended to Free Realms / DC Universe Online / PlayStation Network / Qriocity users to compensate for the downtime. They don’t give any hints as to what that will be, but merely state that they are “evaluating ways to show appreciation for your extraordinary patience” for the time being. There’s also a curt “Thank you for your continued feedback” at the end, which made me giggle. I’m sure they’re loving the feedback right about now.
