Sony's offering some pretty sweet looking downloadable titles all October, like this one in the picture with the space flowers. LOOK AT THEM WON'T YOU?

October is a good month to be a PlayStation 3 owner, it seems. Partly as a follow-up to their $20 million publishing fund investment, today Sony announced their “Only On PSN” initiative, which seems sort of like the Xbox LIVE Summer of Arcade, but only a month long, and on the PSN.

Each week, kicking off tomorrow, there will be new, PlayStation exclusive games on the PSN, including Eufloria and Okabu, two of the games that were financed with by the cash from the $20 million pub fund. Additionally, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get a 20 percent discount on all of the games within the first week of their release—and spending $60 or more from the PlayStation Network wallet in October will earn gamers a $10 credit in November. So, lots of discounts there, basically.

But that’s not all: some classic PlayStation 2 games are going to be released as part of the offer. So far (and this may be all of them), Sony has announced God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere, and Ring of Red.

The PlayStation Blog has the list of titles on offer this month:

October 4: Eufloria, Rochard

October 11: Sideway: New York

October 13: Sodium Collection

October 18: Okabu, RocketBirds: Hardboiled Chicken

October 25: inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood, PixelJunk Sidescroller

Check out the PlayStation Blog for the full details and synopses on each of the games.

Curiously missing information: Except for the Sodium Collection, which is listed at $9.99, there doesn’t seem to be any prices attached to these games. I guess it’s likely that they’ll all be around ten bucks, but that’s not for sure. HM. Even still, these games all look pretty slick, and probably won’t cost too, too much. And, if nothing else, when you factor in the discounts and the $10 rebate, you’ve got some good deals going on overall. Now, if only I owned a PS3…
