If you asked any of my friends (SERIOUSLY GO AHEAD AND ASK THEM), I’ve said time and time again, “You know, fellows? What NBA basketball really needs is more dribble-based hip-hop dancing. THEN I’d be interested!”

Well, Majesco must totally have my house bugged, because they’ve STOLEN MY IDEA FOR THEIR NEW KINECT GAME. It’s called NBA Baller Beats, and it will “get players on their feet mastering mad ball handling skills using a real basketball while playing to the beat of an eclectic soundtrack.”

Said Jesse Sutton, CEO of Majesco:

You hear that, BALLERS? You will love this game. Not only that, if you think you’re just, like, a regular baller, this game will help you become THE ULTIMATE BALLER. Here’s some gameplay details from the press release Macjesco sent out this morning:

That’s right—when you get to school or work the next day, you will have BRAGGING RIGHTS. Because who wouldn’t want to brag about being the best at dribbling a basket ball in front of the television in their own living room? It’s not like there are specific, pre-made places indoors and outdoors in every town and city in America where one can go to practice and hone basketball skills and simultaneously show off that they actually have skills worth bragging about.

Oh, also? Who needs shooting? What an overrated part of basketball. I’ve also always said that to my friends:

“Gentlemen, please! Stop trying to convince me that shooting the basketball to score points is one of the most important parts of the game! It’s dribbling! And around-the-world moves! The game will feature music by Kanye West, Run DMC, Gorillaz, Them Crooked Vultures, Common, Tiesto and others, says the press release. It’s set to come out this fall exclusively for the Kinect.
