Even though everyone and their goddamn grandmother is putting out collections on the PS3 right now, the Dreamcast Collection will not be releasing on the console for some reason. The Xbox 360 and PC will get to enjoy the Dreamcast Collection on February 22, which bundles Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure, Sega Bass Fishing, and Space Channel 5: Part 2.

Except… Space Channel 5: Part 2 never came out on the Dreamcast – it was an add-on for the PlayStation 2 release. Everything about this is giving me a headache.

To make things even more confusing, both Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi have already released digitally on the Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

There were a ton of wonderful games for the Dreamcast that are ripe for an HD upgrade, or at least a playable version, on the latest consoles. Downloadable versions of some great Dreamcast games are either available now or coming soon, including Space Channel 5 and Crazy Taxi.

In a new twist, GameStop put up a listing for the Dreamcast Collection for Xbox 360 and PS3 at a price of $29.99. There were no real details to the title, leaving speculation to run rampant.

Personally, I want to see an HD version of The Typing of the Dead.
