Titanfall Sequels Could be Multiplatform, EA Says

So, remember when an EA rep said that Titanfall might come to more platforms besides those called Xbox 360, Xbox One, or PC? And then how a few months later EA was all like, “nah, no, never, it’s Microsoft exclusive 4 LYFE”? Today it’s being reported that EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen said that the game’s sequels could come out on different platforms. The future is an ever shifting, ever changing state of mind, you guys.

Eurogamer points the way back to the Seeking Alpha transcription of Jorgensen’s comments at the UBS Global Technology Conference, in which he dropped this little tidbit:

“I’m sure that there will be future Titanfalls at some point that may be on multiple product platforms.

don’t know, that’s up to the teams that are going through that now, but at the end of the day, we’re excited about this Titanfall and we think it will be a big title and it will be great for Xbox One.”

So if you’re sad about missing out on Titanfall because you’re on Team PlayStation rather than Squad Xbox, don’t sweat—chances are that whatever sequels that come out for multiple platforms years down the line will be EVEN BETTER! Right? Maybe.

Does this change anything for you? For many, Titanfall IS the biggest console exclusive for the Xbox One. Are you content to wait for a sequel if you’re going with another platform?

  1. I expect this to be a Mass Effect scenario entirely. Xbox gets the first game, and then every game after will be multi. Tho, I don’t think they’d consider the Wii U. It’s tech/controller are just too meh. :/

    • Funny that you mention the Wii U, since Mass effect 3 did come out on it. Interestingly enough, I once played the Mass Effect multiplayer with a guy who got a 360 only because he wanted to play the ME3 multi with all the expansions and new characters, which they didnt have on the Wii U because its the Wii U, because he first played it on the Wii U and loved it so much that he bought an Xbox and Live just to play it. Pretty crazy if you ask me, but my point is that maybe if they do release future Titanfalls on the Wii U it’ll result in more console sales? There, I’m done rambling for today.
