Last month, Bungie started distributing beta codes for its upcoming multiplatform shooter, Destiny to those who pre-ordered. As it turns out, Sony worked out a pretty sweet deal with the formerly Microsoft-exclusive developer to bring the beta to its PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles before it hits the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. SNAP!
Bungie posted an update on its site announcing that Sony is getting first dibs:
“We […] announced that the Destiny Beta will be available first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. To reserve your seat, just pre-order the game at select retailers.”
The beta will go live in early 2014, though just when that will happen isn’t yet known. But, as you can see at the top of the page, there’s a bitchin’ new trailer. Seeing as how it coincides with this announcement of the Sony-first beta, includes a Sony-geared congratulations for releasing the PS4, and that it’s being called “new in-engine Destiny footage, chances are GOOD that this is all PlayStation 4 footage. So there’s that.
Whatcha think? It looks pretty damn good. I got my beta code…I don’t even like shooters, and I think this game is going to be pretty damn slick.
