Grand Theft Auto Online Title Update is Live

If you’re one of the brave souls who’s been continually confounded by the problems plaguing Grand Theft Auto Online, here’s some good news for you. A post on the Rockstar Newswire reveals that a new title update for the game has gone live, and that it’s ready for you to download. Huzzah!

So what will it fix? The post says that it “addresses some residual issues where occasionally people’s vehicles or vehicle modifications were disappearing due to a cloud save failure,” as well as these other fixes:

  • Built in measures to prevent users from losing their progress when there is a cloud outage
  • Built in a number of measures to protect players’ cash balances even if there are network problems
  • Fixed an issue where on rare occasions during network problems the player could lose their Online vehicle or mods after exiting GTA Online

That’s pretty good. The post also notes that the long-awaited GTA Stimulus pack—which will pump a half-million bucks into players’ in-game bank accounts to make up for the buggy launch—will “be distributed in the next couple of days following this Title Update.”

“The Stimulus will go out over the course of a full day once it’s initiated so don’t be alarmed if people on your friends list receive it before or later than you do,” the post continues. “Enjoy and we certainly appreciate your patience and understanding as we sort out these remaining issues.”

For me, I’m not super interested in GTA Online. I was before I got the game, but now that I’ve finally finished the single-player campaign, I think I’m a little GTA’d out. Time to move onto something else, you know? So all this is great…but I don’t think I’ll be jumping online anytime soon. Not only that, but my Xbox LIVE subscription’s about to run out, and with the PS4 coming to my house very soon, I think I’m just going to let the subscription lapse and be done with it. So that’s me.

How’s everyone else dealing with GTA Online? Floating your boat? Yanking your crank? Or are you ready for the next big thing?

  1. I tried GTA online, wasn’t impressed, there’s nothing to do other than goof around and kill each other, only difference from gta4 multiplayer is that there is a pointless level rank system somewhere for the CoD kids to glee.

  2. My account just had the Stimulus payed, came in $500,000 lump sum. I was sure I read that they would dist 250,000 then the next 250,000 later.
