Plants vs. Zombies 2 Out Now Worldwide on Android
PopCap Games, the studio behind such hits as Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies, has today announced the worldwide launch of Plants vs. Zombies 2, specifically for Android devices. You can grab it now on Google Play from your phone or tablet.
The game was formerly available exclusively on iOS devices, and launched as a free-to-play title with microtransactions, unlike its predecessor.
“With the arrival of Plants vs. Zombies 2 on Android, we’re effectively reaching a huge new audience of mobile players who have been eagerly awaiting the game,” said Tony Leamer, Franchise Business Director for Plants vs. Zombies.
“We’re particularly pleased that the Android iteration of the game has all the great features and functionality found in other mobile editions.”
In terms of what’s really “new” in Plants vs. Zombies 2, they’ve got three new worlds to play through (with more in production), 60 launch levels (again, more coming), dozens of new plant and zombie types, new plant food to power your army, new power-ups, and side-missions, mini-games, and challenge zones that provide “never-ending quests for glory.”
In short, you can get more plants and more zombies, and you can make ‘em fight real good. Snag it at your convenience. It’s free (for the most part), after all.
