PS4 Demo Stations Showing Up at Retailers Today
Over on the PlayStation Blog today, the fine folks at Sony have let us know that demo units of the PlayStation 4 have started popping up at retailers all across the country. The rollout starts today in “select Sony Stores,” while other more ubiquitous retail locations including GamStop, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart will start getting PS4 units soon after in the days to come.
What will you be able to play when you find one? According to the post, there are demos of Knack, Octodad: Deadliest Catch, FIFA 14, Contrast, Super Motherload, and Pinball Arcade. While only a handful of those are likely to really impress you with their visual prowess, that’s still an interesting and diverse lineup of samples that gamers can try out. I mean, Octodad? Really? I can’t wait to see some little kid try to figure that one out.
So if you want to see where the nearest PS4 demo is to you, check out the Experience PlayStation site. Though…I gotta say, so far the searching site doesn’t seem to be really doing its job. I entered my zip code and got a fat lot of nothing. Maybe Sony will get that fixed…soon.
Anyway, in the meantime, drop by your local Best Buy or something. I’m sure that they’ll have demo units up and running sooner rather than later. After all, the PS4 will actually be on store shelves in just under a month—so be on the lookout, y’know?
