Though nobody seemed aware of its existence, publisher Activision stealthily released a new Call of Duty game for iOS devices this morning, Call of Duty: Strike Team. The game is “built from the ground up” for your iPhone and/or iPad, and is available now on the App Store for $6.99.
Call of Duty: Strike Team features two ways to play: in traditional first-person mode where you aim guns and fire bullets, and an overhead top-down view, where you also aim guns and shoot bullets. The app’s page claims that this overhead view allows for the use of big boy words like “reconnaissance” and “coordinated squad attacks.”
This game of the year contender is currently only playable on models iPhone 4S and up, iPad Mini, iPad 2 and up, and iPod Touch 5th generation and up.
As of this writing, it has three bombastically high five-star reviews from users, who have nothing but praise and high marks to offer the apparently remarkable mobile shooter.
