New Batman: Arkham Origins Screens
This October, we’ll finally get to play Batman: Arkham Origins, the latest installment in the mega-successful Arkham series published by Warner Bros. Interactive. For me, the game has gone from an iffy outlier—since it’s being developed by WB Montreal, and not the studio that made the other two games, Rocksteady—to what’s shaping up to be one of my must-buys for 2013. Am I just a slave to tradition and the need to pretend to be Batman? Or does this game actually look legitimately good?
Well, take a look at the screenshots from Gamescom last week, posted above and below, and judge for yourself. Since it was announced that the game would have an online multiplayer mode where you’d be able to play as Batman, Robin, or a thug, I’ve become far more interested than I was already. Even still, the proof will be in the pudding. Arkham Origins may be playable at PAX this week, I think, and I’m pretty sure one of us will be over there to scope it out. Hopefully it’ll live up to its predecessors.
Anyway, I say again: check out the bad guys featured in the screens. Lots of henchmen, the return of the League of Assassins, Anarky (who sucks), and more. What do you think so far?
