Nintendo Expands 3DS StreetPass Plaza With New Games, Layout and Touch Controls
The Nintendo 3DS StreetPass Mii Plaza app has been stealthily expanded by Nintendo in the past few days, courtesy of a new system update that adds new games, touch-screen controls, and a swanky new layout.
The new games added to the Mii Plaza include Mii Force, Flower Town, Warrior’s Way and Monster Manor – all of which are played similarly to Puzzle Swap and Find Mii/Find Mii II. In essence, you use players you meet in real life (by passing them on the street using the 3DS’ wifi) to advance in these games.
Descriptions of each, provided by Nintendo:
- Mii Force: Players use StreetPass Mii characters to blast their way through enemies and keep the galaxy peaceful.
- Flower Town: Players plant seeds in their virtual gardens. When players StreetPass with other players, their plants are watered. Cross-pollination can lead to new breeds.
- Warrior’s Way: Players use StreetPass to recruit troops and amass an army to unify a country.
- Monster Manor: Players collect StreetPass Mii characters that bring new pieces of floor. Players can then create rooms, fight ghosts and unlock treasure chests in a climb to the top of the mansion.
Each game costs $4.99, but can be bought in a discounted combo 4-pack for $14.99. You buy them from a little white rabbit. Adorable.
The update also includes new hats like the Yoshi Egg, Super Mushroom and Super Star. There’s also a full Luigi costume up for attaining if you complete its respective accomplishments in the Mii Plaza.
The update is available now and totally free, so jump in to see the gorgeous new plaza in motion on your sweet little 3DS.
