An update released today by Nintendo for their spunky little handheld, the Nintendo 3DS, adds the ability to create a backup of your game saves to an SD card “at the touch of a button,” according to Nintendo’s statement on the 3DS homepage.
Games and applications that support this new feature will display a small arrow in the bottom left corner of the homescreen when highlighted. Simply tap it and select the ‘Save-Data Backup’ button to commence the backing of ups.
Now, you don’t have to worry about losing your save data when deleting an application to make room – simply back it up to an SD card and offload it to your 3DS when you reinstall the app at a later date. That’s actually a feature the PS Vita could use sooner or later…
If you’re near some Internet today (which I assume you are, as a reader of this article), fetch you some of this new update on the double! You can do so right from System Settings.
Now, if you’ll excuse me… I have some Animal Crossing: New Leaf apples just dying to be plucked from their leafy homes. AND CONSUMED THEREAFTER.
