To be totally honest, I thought we already knew this: it seems that Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has been confirmed as a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles when they launch this autumn.
The confirmation came when game director Ashraf Ismail talked with ElderGeek about the game’s forthcoming launch this October 29, saying of the next-gen consoles, “We are launch titles for those platforms.”
He also commented on a PC version of Assassin’s Creed IV:
“We’re working hard on the PC version. It’s one of the main platforms we work on in the office. For our PC fans, don’t worry. The game on PC looks phenomenal.”
So there you have it. But, really, was this at all not a given? Did we really think that Ubisoft would skip out on having next-gen versions of their biggest franchise available the day these new consoles launched? Well, we know for sure now. So…get it, I guess.
It actually might be faster if Ubisoft tells us the platforms Assassin’s Creed IV won’t be on. Like…Android and iOS? Amiga? Commodore 64? These are the questions.
