One of the Wii U’s more unique—if not universally loved—titles is ZombiU from Ubisoft, a game that’s so far exclusive to the console. According to a post on GameInformer, work on a sequel has begun—so that’s good, right?
Jean-Phillippe Caro, the creative director of development studio Ubisoft Montpellier, offered up this tweet in response to a fan’s question:
@KingreX32 thank you for your interest in zombiu. The team is working hard on a prototype. it´s too soon to tell you more.

However, there aren’t really any other details about a supposed sequel. The fact that the team is working on a prototype for a sequel is encouraging, even if it never sees the light of day. That Ubisoft would want the studio to work on another title shows that the first one must’ve done well enough to justify a follow-up. By that same token, there’s no telling whether or not the console itself justifies a follow-up—if the Wii U doesn’t manage to capture a bigger audience by the end of this year, it’s going to be questionable for third parties to be making Wii U-exclusive games at all.
What do you think? Would a sequel to ZombiU turn things around for the console? Would you buy it?
