Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have partnered to create an Eevee-themed Nintendo 3DS XL that will be available exclusively to Japan consumers. It joins the growing list of custom-themed 3DS consoles, like the Pikachu and Animal Crossing-themed units.
The system itself will run you $184 (18,900 yen), and will be extremely limited in availability. You’ll only be able to buy it in Pokemon Centers in Japan, but before that you have to enter a lottery that ends June 3 in order to even have the chance. It’s slim pickins’, you might say.
Nintendo also announced that it will release a Metallic Red 3DS for $146 (15,000 yen) in Japan on June 13. So, there’s that.
The Eevee unit in particular was created in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Pokemon Center stores, with the first stores opening in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan in November 1998.
And in case you don’t know what an Eevee is:
Now you do.
