Yesterday, Square Enix announced what folks will get for pre-ordering Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX, which is a compilation of past games in the Kingdom Hearts franchise set to be released on September 10 for the PlayStation 3. So what is it? It’s an art book! Yes, an art book.
The book will offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of what is surely one of the buyer’s favorite game franchises. The book is hardcover, and weighs in at 24 pages, offering up “an array of visuals such as character renders, promotional art and artwork of the different Disney worlds from Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.”
Question. Why does the Kingdom Hearts franchise have some of the worst names for its games? I’m just saying—look at those. They don’t make any fucking sense. And that’s not even getting into Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, because “three-dimensions” wasn’t normal enough for “3D.” Anyway.
So, art book. It’d be a little bit more exciting if the book were longer than only 24 pages, don’t you think? Even still, the compilation itself will only cost $40, so already you’re getting a lot of content for a comparatively low price. So that ain’t bad, I guess.
