Twenty dollars gets you a second analogue pad for the 3DS XL, if you want one. It seems that the Circle Pad Pro attachment designed for the bigger, beefier 3DS XL console has finally appeared on Nintendo’s online store for sale in the United States, a good many months after the upgraded handheld made its first appearance.
The need for the second analogue stick is kind of questionable, though. As the listing for the add-on points out, there are only a few games that could really use it: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Resident Evil Revelations, Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance], METAL GEAR SOLID 3D Snake Eater, and Kid Icarus: Uprising. I’ve had the system since 2012 in both iterations, and I’ve never needed the second pad in any of the games I’ve played. That said, I would have loved to actually have it, since I’m sure developers could do great things in their games with the addition of the second analogue input.
So, yeah, I’m still kinda mad that the damn second pad wasn’t included in the system in the first place. But here it is. Yay?
