The developer behind the fan-favorite Professor Layton franchise and recent critical hit Ni No Kuni, Level-5, is hard at work on a new game for the PlayStation 4. The news comes by way of a post on Japanese site Nikkei Trendy (subsequently translated by Gematsu), which reports that the studio is edging closer to announcing what the game’s going to be. Akihiro Hino, the man in charge, offered this tidbit regarding what’s coming next from the studio:
“It’s still in the planning stages, but we are also working on a PlayStation 4 title. We might be able to announce it soon.
PlayStation 4 is next-gen hardware built with the network in mind, so more than graphics performance and specs, we need to think about communication—how to use the network features.”
Interesting…very interesting. Level-5 is known for being one of the more imaginative studios around, so anytime they start thinking “outside the box,” as it were, that’s a good sign for gamers. Chances are we’ll get to see something new and unique.
What do you think? What kind of title do you want to see on the PS4 from Level-5? And what could the network-focused stuff be all about? Start wildly speculating…now.
