D&D Neverwinter Beta Begins on April 30

Today it was announced that the open beta for Perfect Word and Cryptic Studios’ free-to-play MMO Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter will start up on April 30. Hey, that’s the end of this month!

Here’s what Crytpic COO Craig Zinkievich had to say about the impending start of the open beta:

“The direct response and support from the Neverwinter  community during our Closed Beta Weekends have pushed us to make  Neverwinter the best free-to-play MMORPG anyone has yet seen. On April 30, we go into Open Beta. That’s when the world we’ve labored for years to build comes to life—that’s when every gamer can login and play what we’ve worked so hard to create. We could not be more excited.”

If you don’t want to wait that long, you can become a Founder to jump into Neverwinter’s Beta Weekend 4, which starts on Friday April 12 and lasts for 60 hours. Founders at the highest level will also get all kinds of exclusive in-game items like a unique armored spider mount, a unique panther companion, and a whole lot more. Of course, that costs $200…so maybe you might want to go for the second tier that only costs $60, and comes with a unique direwolf companion, a unique armored horse mount, and some more stuff. Both will get you early beta access, it seems.

Anyone stoked about the forthcoming open beta?

  1. I’m not stoked but I’m interested to see how it goes. Been looking for a new MMO ever since SWTOR really hit the shitter.
