Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions Coming to Android

It’s not often I get to post about awesome games coming to Android, so just let me savor this one.

Square Enix has released Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions on Android in Japan through their own Square Enix Market. The game costs roughly $15 USD, so should it get a release here (which is likely at this point) that’s about the price point to expect.

But there’s more. The Android version features sharper, higher-resolution sprites, multi-touch, and faster drawing speed which I guess means the game won’t chug when you drop a bomb ass spell. You can see the difference in the image below (via Famitsu).

Though I’m one of those smug assholes that likes Android way more than iOS, I have to admit the game scene has lagged far behind. Square Enix has dropped some great games on iOS which are only now starting to make it to the open-source side of the ocean. Hell, Android just got Final Fantasy Dimensions and Chaos Ring a few months ago… both of which are pretty great by the way.

Here’s hoping that they’re seeing some success on the Android platform and are starting to speed up the porting process.
