EA and Zynga Settle Court Case Regarding Sims Social and The Ville
After months of duking it out in court, video game publishing giants Electronic Arts and Zynga have finally reached a settlement agreement concerning the similarity between the company’s respective games, The Sims Social and The Ville, as well as the counter-claim from Zynga that EA CEO John Riccitello illegally prevented EA employees from being hired by Zynga.
In a statement issued to a number of media outlets covering the case, both Zynga and EA independently announced the conclusion of the long-running disagreement:
“EA and Zynga have resolved their respective claims and have reached a settlement of their litigation in the Northern District of California.”
The details of the settlement remain a mystery, much due to the fact that they are still pending approval by the court and will not be made public for some time, if at all. If and when those details do surface, you can bet we’ll let you know right here, right on the blog.
