New Assassin’s Creed Sequel in the Works, New Hero and Time Period
This morning, Ubisoft, publisher of such witty franchises as Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, and everyone’s obvious favorite, CSI, announced that a new Assassin’s Creed sequel is in the works, and is slated for unveling in the company’s fiscal year 2014 – that’s between April 2013 and March 2014.
It’ll feature a new hero, a new team of buddies for said hero to play with, and a new time period for you to spend the first two hours ignoring in favor of exploring a cargo ship instead. Wait, I mean it’ll just have a new time period and that’s all we know. Sorry.
In the words of Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot regarding the matter:
“In financial 2014, we will introduce an all-new Assassin’s Creed hero, within an all-new team and time period, and we expect it to be another major leap forward for the franchise.”
The new game will be developed by multiple teams (as the AC games always have been), with each designated chapters chronologically in the game.
“It is the benefit of multiple teams, working on multiple chapters of the brand, each getting several years to make their versions of an Assassin’s Creed game.”
Yes, I know that we just got our grubby mitts on Assassin’s Creed III in November, but Ubisoft just keeps cranking them out! They’re a gosh-darn Assassin factory!

Hoping for the French Revolution. That time period would really work well for an Assassin’s Creed story to base itself around.
As long as there is no constant Desmond (Lost pun mildly intended) crap, I’m game, seriously, the third took everything the first had of of annoying and brought it back.
i don’t know if i can get behing this, i felt rather insulted by the way they handled the american revolution, Atleast with AC 2 they handled it with more respect, AC3 seemed more like an attempt to be edgey while glossing over some of the most important revolutionary battles and reasons and then that ending. It was almost as bad as mass effect.
