The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Announced for PC and “High-End Platforms”

The long-awaited and much-teased third entry in CD Projekt Red’s RPG franchise, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has been officially announced via the latest issue of Game Informer magazine. The game will be launching in 2014 for the PC and “all high-end platforms available.”

The reveal was initially spoiled by NeoGAF via user Indigo_Cyclops, who posted screenshots and text segments of his digital copy of the magazine. Shortly after, Game Informer stepped up to make the official confirmation on their website. A short video was released alongside.

Here’s the game’s brief description as provided by the NeoGAF post (out of Game Informer):

“CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 takes the series’ dark fantasy universe and non-linear storytelling into a truly open world for the first time. Even if you haven’t been following Geralt’s exploits so far, The Witcher 3 offers a perfect entry point.”

If you want to learn more about the game, be sure to snag the March edition of Game Informer when it arrives on store shelves, in your mailbox, or digitally through a number of mobile subscription applications.

So now you have both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 to look forward to – aren’t you just a lucky duck?

  1. Very happy about this. I probably would have supported Witcher 3 as much as possible no matter what since I really like CD Projekt Red and the work they do. But hearing that Witcher 3 will be open world makes me legitimately excited. Fairly sure I’m gonna buy this game simply because of that. The first and second were amazing games but they were very linear. Hopefully this turns out to be great. Then we’ve got Cyberpunk 2077 to look forward to.

  2. Next gen, still non-linear, 30x larger, no more load screens, and Triss is still hot as a minx… I can already feel CDPR reaching into my wallet…
