Warcraft Movie Project Signs ‘Moon’ Director

An article on The Hollywood Reporter from a couple days ago reports that Duncan Jones, director of the awesome Sam Rockwell-starring movie Moon, has been hired to direct the movie adaptation of Warcraft. While it doesn’t have a ton of bearing on the project, Jones is also David Bowie’s son. So, you know, that’s pretty cool.

According to the report, the movie’s coming from Legendary Pictures, the same production company behind Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight movies, and is slated for a 2015 release. It’s also being written by Charles Leavitt, the screenwriter behind The Mighty and K-Pax among other unproduced films. Not bad.

Based on the strength of Moon alone, I’m pretty interested. How bad could it be?

Maybe I’m just being really biased but I really think since he’s signed to this project, this movie could very well take off in the right direction. I’m excited to see it!

Blizzard should stop being silly and make a full CGI movies. Those are the best things they make.
