Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon Now Has Four-Player Multiplayer
For the first time in the series’ history, the Nintendo 3DS-exclusive Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon will sport both local and online multiplayer modes in conjunction with Download Play functionality.
You and up to four other friends can party up and venture into a zone the game refers to as the ‘ScareScraper’, which is filled with creatures ripe for the vacuuming. In Hunter Mode, each player controls a uniquely-colored Luigi and must hunt down and clear out enemy ghosts before time runs out. Based on how well you and your team perform, you’ll earn bonuses and upgrades to help you as you play.
Boss battles will also be available in multiplayer, with one atop each tower you visit. Difficultly levels are separated by number of floors desired, ranging from 5, 10 and 25 floors. Should it become too difficult a task and a friend falls in combat, you can revive them.
If your friend is a complete wuss, that is.
Of course, we don’t know for sure yet how much of this multiplayer can be played off of a single cartridge, or if it requires multiple game cards. As always though, Nintendo has included its typical disclaimer in the press release:
“Additional systems and games may be required for multiplayer modes and are sold separately.”
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon will hit retail stores on March 24, not to mention on the Nintendo eShop via digital download. You can buy the game either way for $39.99.
Go on, give Mario’s younger brother some love. He needs it about as bad as Sonic the Hedgehog needs Tails. But not those other characters, he doesn’t need them. They’re… they’re just awful.

My childhood dream has been to punch Tails in the f**king face. And Luigi. And pretty much every one of those f***-tarded looking pokemon they’ve invented. Ah, childhood…
