Last of Us Demo Free with God of War Ascension

Can’t wait to play The Last of Us? If that’s the case, then you better make sure you pick up a copy of God of War Ascension, set for release on March 12 in North America (with releases through the rest of the week for Europe, Australia, and the UK).

The announcement comes by way of the PlayStation Blog, which explains that one level of Naughty Dog’s new PS3 exclusive post-apocalypse survival game will be made available once you boot up your copy of Ascension. Based on the way it’s worded, it seems as though the level won’t actually be included on the disc—rather, you’ll probably be granted access to a digital download of the level once the disc is in your console:

“ust load the God of War: Ascension disc into your PS3 and find The Last of Us listing on the main menu. There, you’ll find details on how you can obtain The Last of Us demo for free as soon as it becomes available.”

As for when The Last of Us will actually be released, you’ll have to wait until May 7 for that. But chances are that the inclusion of a demo signals a pretty high level of confidence in the game—I have a feeling this is one that’ll probably live up to the hype pretty well, don’t you?
