Assassin’s Creed III DLC ‘The Tyranny of King Washington’ Releasing Feb 19
After a tantalizing initial announcement just prior to the game’s launch, the first narrative DLC for Assassin’s Creed III, The Tyranny of King Washington, will be launching in episodic form starting with the first episode on February 19. It’ll be available for purchase on Xbox 360 and PS3, as well as PC via… ugh, Uplay.
The first episode follows the supposed hero, Ratonhnhaké:ton (no, seriously), after he wakes up from “an unsettling dream” to the realization that George Washington has been crowned King of America. Yes, as in the America that just moments before broke free of the tyrannical chains of Britain.
So, what’s your job in all of this mess, as the great Ratonhnhaké:ton (no, seriously)? Well, to dethrone him, of course. And, I imagine, help him with sidequests that involve the chopping down of cherry trees. That’s yet to be confirmed, mentioned, or even hinted at by Ubisoft, so… let’s just go with the dethroning part for now. Fingers crossed, though.
Since there will be two more episodes of this three-part squaredance with Washington, you have the option of either purchasing each episode individually or as a part of the Assassin’s Creed III Season Pass, which as you likely know costs $29.99 (2400 Microsoft points) and gets you all DLC that’s ever released for the game.
Should you go the a’la carte route, each episode is $9.99 (800 Microsoft points).
As we reach the end of this news post, I just want to take the time to thoroughly express my deep and undying appreciation for the British people. Such a lovely culture, and even lovelier accents! Even the Queen seems like a nice gal to have over for brunch.
And no, I’m not saying that because Inside Gaming’s Editor-In-Chief, Rob Smith, just so happens to be British. If I wanted to be on his good side, I’d complement his fashion sense, hairstyle or overt sense of wisdom.
So don’t accuse me of things, guys. That’s not cool.

Why the hell would George Washington be a king, much less a tyrant? He didn’t even like the idea of presidents because he felt they were too close to kings.
That’s the joke, my friend. Plus, it’s Ubisoft we’re talking about here — benders of all things history… and creators of really slow, three hour intro sequences.
I got the Deluxe Edition with the Season Pass and all..
I don’t think I’ll be touching AC3. Ever. Again.
Why did you waste all that money then, if you’re not even going to try the DLC???
Considering the way ubisoft bashed american history and the horrible ending to boot, The AC series is done in my books. They had a really good campaign with the second game, and three was supposed to have been worked on by the makers of the second game, how could they gotten it so wrong, the way they gloss over paul reveries ride or the founding fathers and their decision to break from england it just boggles the mind how poorly executed it was.
As it stands ubisoft is another company on the boycott list, and that list is getting bigger by the publisher. Right now i’ve got EA, VIvendi(activision and blizzard as well because vivendi owns them), Capcom, and now ubisoft. The way its going bethesda and 2kgames are the last large publishers i’ll buy from the rest are indie games.
HIPSTER POWERS ACTIVATE! FORM OF: A DOUCHE BAG
ok seriousllly am i the only one who thinks that king washington looks like the burger king guy??
