Bungie Sends Hospitalized Kid Some Awesome Halo Reach Swag to Cheer Him Up

There are good people in the world, and then there are the folks at Bungie, the creators of Halo. When a Reddit user (and father) reached out on the forums to ask if anyone had a contact at the game studio, he was answered.

His young son, a Halo fan, was in the hospital for a freaking nine hour liver transplant surgery and could barely lean forward in bed afterwards. After hearing about this, Bungie sent him a full-size replica of Carter’s helmet from Halo Reach to keep, alongside a Bungie-themed t-shirt and card signed by the Bungie staff – all just to cheer him up.

“My family can’t thank Bungie enough,” fiscal_ wrote.

“I know that they have had a huge impact on how well my son has been recovering after his surgery.”

You can view the full album of pictures from the event over in Imgur right now, and trust me, it’s about as heartwarming a tale as you can get on a Monday. And if you’re reading this, anyone from Bungie, Godspeed to you. It’s a heart of gold you possess.

  1. I have super cancer! Super testicular cancer! Caught it from Chief! Can I haz recon?!

  2. I feel for him and everything, but the kid doesn’t look to even be in his teenage years yet. Isn’t Halo Reach supposed to be rated M for Mature?

  3. Bungie = Best Studio Ever

  4. It’s heartwarming until you realise Carter died in Reach.

Your feels, where are they now?
