Sony Rolling out Vita’s Wii U Competition with LBP 2 DLC

The PlayStation Blog reported yesterday that forthcoming DLC for LittleBigPlanet 2 will show off the PlayStation 3 and Vita’s “Cross-Controller” capabilities. That means that gamers will be able to use the Vita like a controller for the PS3, and take advantage of the rear and front cameras and touchscreens. Here’s the official description of what the pack will have in store for that feature:

“In the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack, Sackboy joins up with a group of lovable Space Pirates as they race to find a valuable treasure long thought lost to the Cosmos. On their adventure they’ll encounter new obstacles that can only be overcome with the help of PS Vita’s unique features.”

Honestly? I’m not even remotely interested in the game, so much as I want to see what the PS3 can do in this regard. The fact that the Vita can be used as a controller for the PS3 has been one that Sony’s touted since the handheld’s release way back in February, if not even earlier. So why has it taken so long to have something take true advantage of those capabilities? I want it. I want more of it. My want is irrational and insatiable! Get it going! Do it!

The pack will cost $4.99 and comes out on December 18. Hooray!

  1. I’m pretty sure people haven’t cared about that game in a while. And I never cared about the Vita.
