Assassin’s Creed III Sells 7 Million Copies Worldwide

Seven million copies—that’s how many units Assassin’s Creed III has sold in its first month of release, according to a press release published by Ubisoft today. The publisher/developer also boasts that Assassin’s Creed III is the fastest-selling game in the company’s history…which ain’t bad at all.

Tony Key, senior VP of sales and marketing offered this on the game’s milestone:

“The reception for Assassin’s Creed III has been exceptional, and this success has positioned the game among the best sellers of the 2012 holiday season. We knew we had something special on our hands when Assassin’s Creed III was launched, and we’re really excited and proud to see how much fans are enjoying the latest installment in the franchise.”

Great job, Ubisoft. It’s funny—we got this news today, and last night was the second time I’ve been able to find time to sit and play the damn game. I’m hoping to get some more time in today…this news would seem to suggest that it is DESTINY.

  1. I’m still fighting through RE6, Halo 4, Blops 2 Zombies, and buffing out my Dragon Age save games for the third installment. I expect to be done playing all of 2012’s good games (including AC3) by the time I’m on my deathbed, with some overlap into the afterlife.
