Crysis 3 PC System Requirements Revealed

Crysis 3 screen 3 - Prophet under fire

The Crysis franchise has always been famous for its games and their ability to make you cry when you realize just how pathetically incapable your brand new gaming PC really is. Crysis 3 from Crytek and EA is no exception, and will require every last bit of juice your rig has to give.

Sorry kids, you simply won’t have enough memory or storage space anywhere to run the likes of Microsoft Word while running-and-gunning through Crytek’s latest. Also, Windows XP users have been given the boot. Get with the times, you silly billies. Anyway, here are the specs you’re after:

Minimum System Requirements

  • Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
  • DirectX 11 graphics card with 1Gb Video RAM
  • Dual core CPU
  • 2GB Memory (3GB on Vista)
  • Nvidia/Intel example setup: Nvidia GTS 450, Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 Ghz (E6600)
  • AMD example setup: AMD Radeon HD5770, AMD Athlon64 X2 2.7 Ghz (5200+)

Recommended System Requirements

  • Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
  • DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
  • Quad core CPU
  • 4GB Memory
  • Nvidia/Intel example setup: Nvidia GTX 560, Intel Core i3-530
  • AMD example setup: AMD Radeon HD5870, AMD Phenom II X2 565

Hi-Performance System Requirements

  • Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 •
  • Latest DirectX 11 graphics card •
  • Latest quad core CPU
  • 8GB Memory
  • Nvidia/Intel example setup: NVidia GTX 680, Intel Core i7-2600k
  • AMD example setup: AMD Radeon HD7970, AMD Bulldozer FX4150

Sigh, looks like I’ll need more… well, everything.

I see a game that probably won’t sell well on Console, and probably will do OK on PC, but since I played in the Multiplayer Alpha, I really don’t see myself buying this game for the multiplayer (since it was horrible, and there are better shooters out there), I see this game getting pirated alot on PC. Sorry, but this will probably be the last Crysis game. farcry 3 will probably do 10x better on console and PC and that is the franchise Crytek needs to stick with.

Crytek has nothing to do with Farcry 3, Ubisoft developed that, licensing the CryEngine.

If this is what’s considered to be pushing PC hardware at the moment, my current rig is probably going to last me a long time.

12gb’s of RAM?! I’m still busting out with 8 gigs (4gbs x 2 sticks). Maybe I’ll jump up the memory when Crysis 4 hits… Though, by then I’ll probably need 40gbs….

I just upgraded to 32GB today. Honestly if you have 4 DIMMs in your motherboard, RAM is cheap enough now to get a silly amount.

Eh… I might as well update the thing. I’m trying to overclock my gpu/cpu, but RAM usage has been bottlenecking the hell out of everything… Hopefully Tigerdirect has some deals going on this time around. :/
