A post on Pocket Gamer from yesterday reports that Jonatan Söderström—the creator of the insane murder simulator for PC that’s getting great reviews, Hotline Miami—is in talks with Sony to possibly bring the game to the PlayStation Vita. Of course, if that were to happen, it’d still be quite a while before you could actually get it on the device:

“We would need someone to port it for us,” Söderström is quoted as saying. In addition, Söderström and his team are considering bringing the game to Android and iOS devices. Söderström said of that idea, “Would be interesting to see if it was possible to get it to play well on a touchscreen device. Sounds like a challenge.”

Based on Lawrence’s above-linked review, it sounds like a touch-enabled version of the game might be more trouble than it’s worth. It seems as though twitch reflexes are really important…and using touch-based controls might not be the best. On the other hand, Söderström would probably find a way to compensate for the inherent challenges in the medium.

Personally, I’m terrified of playing the game. Straight-up freaked out. I don’t want a game that makes me feel like a psychopathic murderer. I much prefer the moral relativism and hypocrisy that I find in the Assassin’s Creed series. See, you kill people all the time, but you’ve got a heart of gold! Everybody wins!
