Details of PS3’s Exclusive ACIII Content Revealed

Assassin’s Creed III is set to finally be released a week from today, and PlayStation 3 users will have an extra bunch of content, which was finally presented with some detail and the above trailer on the PlayStation Blog today. The content will revolve around the most famous American traitor there is: Benedict Arnold.

What’s cool about the post is that it features an interview with the game’s scriptwriter, Matt Turner, who goes into some detail about how the extra content’s direction was decided on:

“Benedict Arnold is a name that transcended the Revolution and became a synonym for the word ‘traitor’. Given some of the themes in the main story thread, it flowed really well with some of the later beats… but I won’t be specific as they are spoilers! It was also a great opportunity for us to tell a story that people know but don’t really know, you know?”

I’m super excited to be tackling this extra mission for a number of reasons, not least of which the fact that it revolves around the West Point military base in the Mid-Hudson region of New York. While I wasn’t actually too close to West Point itself, that area is where I spent the last ten years or so before moving to Minneapolis, so I’m really jazzed to run around the area in a video game. Maybe I can ride my horse to my old college town…
