New Mass Effect 3 DLC is “Omega,” Arrives Late November

A post on Joystiq this morning points the way to a video interview with Mike Gamble taken at this week’s New York Comic Con—a video that is now, apparently, private, and un-viewable for my own eyes. The video, apparently, reveals that the next (and I would guess final) DLC expansion for Mass Effect 3 is going to be called “Omega,” and will arrive on November 27 at a cost of $15 (or 1200 MS points, if that’s your thing).

The post explains that Omega will pit players against Aria, who’s looking to take control of the Omega station, and will be twice as large as any other ME3 DLC up to this point. Of course, none of this has officially been announced by BioWare or Electronic Arts at this point—but don’t be surprised to hear pretty much everything we just described (and more) in the next few days. Clearly they’re talking about it in public. The announcement’s got to be just around the corner.

Intrigued? Nonplussed? Hey, remember when Mass Effect 3 was the biggest story in gaming? Those were good times.

I am intrigued but i think it might be about Shepard helping take back omega from Cerberus

Supposedly this won’t be the last DLC. People who mined the data files in various other DLCs found references not only to the (at the time unannounced) Omega DLC but also to something having to do with the citadel.
Whether the citadel stuff is single player or multiplayer remains to be seen though.

Anyone else wondering if they’ll do DLC with a new character? Maybe some squadmate that isn’t completely retarded?

*cough* – Ashley, Kaiden, James – *cough*

    Hell, I’d settle for Joker.

Mass Effect is a dead franchise now, many tought it’ll be resurrected after Extended Cut DLC and even Leviathan but it didnt happen. Because no matter what you do, if you wont change the ending, it’ll be pretty much useless. Check BW forums, it’s a dead place.

I wouldn’t post that until the DLC that’s coming out in January called ‘Rebirth’. That might change your point of view.

Mass Effect isn’t dead, and you’re silly for thinking so. A lot of people bought the trilogy, people who already owned the first second and third games to begin with. Ending sucked but that didn’t kill the game. Another Mass Effect is coming out, that’ll get just as many buys. DLC keeps coming out, People will keep buying it. Oh, and Joker can’t join anything, he has brittle bone syndrome lol
