ACIII Liberation’s Aveline will Meet with Connor
Ever since I first heard about it this summer, I’ve been super excited for Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, the stand-alone PlayStation Vita exclusive game featuring the franchise’s first female protagonist, Aveline. As we found out a few weeks ago in our huge ACIII coverage, there will be some definitive crossover between the Vita title and the main console version (as long as you have it for the PlayStation 3, obvs). That will take the form of getting some of Connor’s weapons, and possibly even playing as Connor.
But in the above developer’s diary, posted just yesterday, we learn from Ubisoft directly that Connor will put in an appearance in the game, seemingly whether you have the PS3 version of the main game or not. I’m really interested to see the way the two stories intertwine, and for the first (and, really, only) time, I’m really happy that I have a Vita handheld. Take a look at the diary and hear all about it.
What else do we learn? Well, Aveline will use a whip, which is just cool. And it looks like there are plenty of swampy environments for her to jump around in, which reflects the New Orleans setting. Honestly…I don’t know why I’ve got my shorts in such a twist over this game, but I seriously do. I’m a sucker for revisionist history stuff, and while Assassin’s Creed II was cool with its renaissance Italy setting, I definitely get a special charge out of seeing this American history setting. I’m such a goddamn nerd.
