Joe Danger 2: The Movie, the high-flying sequel to the originally PSN-exclusive Joe Danger, will be heading to the digital shelves of the PlayStation Network on October 9 in North America and October 10 in Europe, priced at $14.99 and £9.99 respectively. Additionally, developer Hello Games has confirmed that this edition for the PlayStation 3 will include “10 hours of extra content”, something the dev team has unofficially named Joe Danger Gaiden.

“It’s actually a throwback to when we made the original Joe Danger,” Hello Games founder Sean Murray mentioned.

“As our guys sat in a room playing our own game, we fell into that classic trap of playing our own game too much. Our first prototype was this very tight, very challenging game that took about 10 hours to complete. No tutorials, no hand-holding, just fun arcade gameplay.”

This initial (and eventually tossed out) prototype is pretty much the extent of Joe Danger: Gaiden, and will be included as that aforementioned 10 extra hours of gameplay. It’s not just tossed into the menu though, it’s actually been transformed into 25 tough levels whose focus is on players attaining Pro medals and completing additional challenges.

And hey, Joe Danger is (in general) pretty dang fun, so give it a try when it launches next week.
