A post on Eurogamer today reports some new details about Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, delivered by Mr. Metal Gear himself, Hideo Kojima, at the Eurogamer Expo.

According to the post, players will be able to build and develop bases for weapons creation outside of the main game, which can then be explored by Snake in the game. The base-building mechanic was first seen in Metal Gear: Peace Walker for the PlayStation Portable. Said Kojima:

“The concept of developing weapons at your base is a very cool idea, and something that could be popular. It’s something we’ve been thinking of.

Furthermore, nowadays there are various ways to access the game world—you’re not just playing in your living room on your games console. You may also access through your cell phone and other devices and still access that same game. I think in that respect that motherbase system lends itself very well to that system, and that’s something we’re planning on for Ground Zeroes.”

Sounds to me like there might be some PlayStation Vita interaction being planned. Intrigued?
