Borderlands 2 Bug Discovered
A post on Joystiq from yesterday reports that a small percentage of Borderlands 2 players have encountered a pretty nasty bug over the last few days: players’ Badass Ranks and lots of other in-game progress is mysteriously and randomly wiped. Worse, the completed challenges needed to unlock those acquisitions in the first place aren’t reset when the bug takes effect, meaning that the lost goodies stay lost.
Gearbox Community Manager Chris Faylor responded to the 300 or so responses a thread about the bug had garnered on the developer’s forums:
“Thanks for all the reports and specific details, folks. Our engineers are looking into this, and the information you’ve provided has proven to be a great resource while we investigate. At the moment, it seems to be a fairly rare issue and we’ll keep you updated on when we resolve it.”
By way of a temporary solution while Gearbox investigates, one forum-poster advised a quick system reset—simply shutting off the console as soon as the bug seems to have taken effect. Because it doesn’t save, it’s possible the game might go back to where it was before the bug had struck.
Anyone out there experienced this bug while shooting up monsters and other jerks in Pandora?

nope. thank god for that. I would get really pissy if my badass rank got reset :D

It was a visual pun. It’s a game bug. And, you know, a bug…from the game…in the picture.

Lets hope they find a fix soon, this is the only thing bringing this game down.
Just encountered two decently funny ones (semi spoilers) you end up in Irish bar at one point and it has a lot of people milling around. I went in the basement got the dynamite and went back upstairs and 10+ guys are all trying to walk to the same corner but instead made two straight lines pointing to the corner I felt like I was in Blair witch. The second one you put a loader robot core into a gun and it speaks while you have it equipped, but I put the thing away while in sanctuary and it kept talking even when I was shooting other guns.
