wii u launch list

When Nintendo announced the November 18 release date for their new Wii U console, they also sent out a list of “launch window” games. How long was the window? Well, from November 18…to March. Pretty big launch window.

But today, they’ve made the day of launch a lot clearer, announcing definitively that 23 of their slate of “launch window” games will come out on November 18. Here is the list, forthwith:

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops II
  • Skylanders Giants
  • TRANSFORMERS PRIME
  • Wipeout 3
  • Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two
  • EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer 13
  • TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 Wii U Edition
  • New Super Mario Bros. U
  • NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge
  • Nintendo Land
  • SiNG PARTY
  • Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
  • WARRIORS OROCHI 3 Hyper
  • Darksiders II
  • Assassin’s Creed III
  • ESPN Sports Connection
  • Just Dance 4
  • Rabbids Land
  • Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013
  • ZombiU
  • Scribblenauts Unlimited
  • Game Party Champions
  • Batman: Arkham CityArmored Edition

So there you go. Some of these games have come out for other platforms and are optimized for the Wii U, like Arkham City and Tekken. Others, like ZombiU and Scribblenauts are Wii U exclusives. Others still, like FIFA, Black Ops II, and Assassin’s Creed III, are multi-platform games with Wii U versions. Out of that whole list, there’s definitely a little something for everyone…but I can already start to guess which games are going to get the most attention.

What do you think? Anything up there a launch day must-have? New Super Mario Bros. U aside, of course.

I’m looking forward to Scribblenauts. Silly awesomeness. Also Wipeout 3 because I’ve loved the past iterations of the series.

You know this is the Wipeout based on the dumb TV show, right? Not the legendary future-car racing series?

Silly trademarks, why don’t you work where expected?
