Collector’s Edition for Injustice Gods Among Us Announced
This morning, Warner Bros. Interactive announced a collector’s edition for Injustice: Gods Among Us, their 3D fighting game featuring iconic DC Comics characters beating the snot out of each other for some reason.
The set will set you back $99, and will feature a 13” statue of Batman and Wonder Woman engaged in the aforementioned snot-beating-out-of-each-other, a “special collector’s edition of a brand new DC Comics series” (what series?), a digital download for Justice League: Doom (okay, that’s pretty cool), and three in-game skins for Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman based on last year’s New 52 relaunch designs. EH.
The game’s set for an April 2013 release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U consoles, so it’ll be quite a while before we see what NetherRealm and WBI have on their hands here. Personally, I’m underwhelmed. Seeing the game in action sure does look cool…but, I don’t know. A 3D fighting game? I’m still not convinced why I should care. That said, comics have been very disappointing for me over the last year or so (DC in particular), and I actually haven’t bought a funnybook in months. So maybe I’m over these guys…
That said, I still love Batman. He’s awesome.
