BioWare Quietly Hints at New IP
Amid yesterday’s news that BioWare cofounders Doctors Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk were retiring from the company and the industry at large, BioWare Edmonton and Montreal’s general manager, Aaryn Flynn, posted an update that dropped some hints. Flynn explained that Dragon Age 3: Inquisition and new content for Mass Effect were still coming down the pike…and then he wrote this:
“Both Dragon Age and Mass Effect started as single games but grew into vast universes. But we aren’t stopping there. While [Mass Effect Executive Producer Casey Hudson] continues to oversee the development of our new Mass Effect project, he and his leads are putting together their vision for an all new game set in a fictional universe, built from the bottom-up with all new gaming technology.”
New game…fictional universe…built from the bottom-up. Sounds good to me. Now’s your chance to sound off on what you think it might be…or what you WANT it to be. Should they keep going with the sci-fi stuff they built with Mass Effect? More Dragon Age style fantasy? Or maybe something entirely new…?
