Announced on the Bioware Blog early this morning was the long-rumored sequel to Dragon Age II, entitled Dragon Age III: Inquisition. The game has been in development “in some way for about two years now”, but has been a main focus for about “18 months.”

As for specific details about the game itself, it’s being crafted by “a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins,” in addition to new faces and names. The game will run on a new engine that Bioware says will “deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization.”

“We’ve started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.”

As for that aforementioned customization, Bioware hints that it might go as deep as armor and follower customization.

Aside from potential details “leaked” in previous marketing surveys for the game, we’ve unfortunately no hard details on hand to offer you regarding Dragon Age III, but Bioware maintains the stance of having an open “dialogue” with consumers.

Now, the real question is… who’s pumped for another Dragon Age game? I’m not, but I’m excited if you are!

I am very excited I love the world and the dialog of the last one and got into the combat more also, the only problem I had with the last one was the shortcuts they took with dungeons and to a lesser extent the lack of companion customization.

Sure hope they go back to Origin’s visual style.I was so disappointed by the cartoonish look of Dragon Age 2.

well… if they are aiming for better visuals, i dont think its likely they would go back to neither Origins nor DA2 at all…
      its a frost bite 2 engine…

Speaking of the bland, uninspired garbage that passes for fantasy….

Galo, there’s no reason to say that, you could just say that you don’t like it…

Anyway, i’m super-friggin’-pumped for it. Sounds like it’s gonna be great.

Have it your way. I don’t like it because it’s bland, uninspired garbage.

Really? I think the story is great, while DA2′s was a bit too personal for me, I think the whole world is very well designed. So many parallels between the world and today, which I like.

The whole Chantry VS Mages war that’s kicking off is something I’m really interested in, routing for the Mages, as always.

I mean seriously, how many of you sided with the Templars more than once in DA2?

I am extremely excited! I would like a more active gameplay style like 2 had, but with the story, customization, and vastness origins had.

Exactly, the combination of the two and Bioware will be back on top.

This will be interesting how they handle my save file, i sided with the mages 99% of the time but when krikwall was in flames i sided with meredith. keep in mind i was a mage.

I’m very excited and I agree with an above comment “a more active gameplay style like 2 had, but with the story, customization, and vastness origins had”.

Make this happen Bioware! I can’t wait! :D

Considering how Bioware has been slowly declining since its EA buyout, and the fact that there is no solid gameplay to make any judgements, I’m keeping my expectations dirt low, and just hoping that maybe Bioware has a bit of a spark left.

Lets wait them to screw up its ending
    Just like mass effect
