Reggie Teases Tomorrow’s Wii U Conference

Among the writers for InsideGamingDaily, the one topic that has us all pretty jazzed is the Wii U. I think I can safely speak for my colleagues when I say that we’re eager to see how the GamePad controller changes things up, and how the system’s price will affect the next year or so of video games. With that in mind, we’re all looking forward to tomorrow’s conference in New York, where it’s been speculated that Nintendo will reveal price and release date information for their console.

While only Landon is set to be able to make it to the conference in-person, we all want to know what happens—so that’s why Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime sat down to make the above video. The conference is set to start at 10 a.m. Eastern, and will be broadcast on the Wii U Facebook page, and I can say with confidence that I’ll be watching.

Of course, knowing Nintendo, they won’t bother announcing anything even a little bit relevant, and will instead just get Mayor Bloomberg on stage to play Scribblenauts or something dumb.

If they do announce a price and date, however, I’m hoping that it’s low enough to really be a threat to Sony and Microsoft. I’d love to be able to snag a new system for $300 or less…

There are some that care, and there are some that don’t. Of the writers specifically, Brian, Lawrence, and myself are all Nintendo console owners.

We waited with child-like glee, just as you did, for that press conference to begin.
