rising canceled in japan

Today, reports Eurogamer, Kojima Productions announced the cancelation of the Xbox 360 version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance in Japan. The game is still planned for multi-platform release everywhere else, and no reason has been given for why the Japanese version of the game has been canned.

So why did it happen? Simply put, the Xbox 360 might as well be made of poison in Japan. It’s dead last in console sales (which is ironic considering its dominance nearly everywhere else), and I suppose it must make some financial sense not to commit to manufacturing something they’ve pretty much guaranteed is not going to sell. Even still, those few dedicated Xbox 360 owners in Japan must be pretty pissed about this. On the other hand, they probably ALSO own the PlayStation 3, having only bought Microsoft’s console due to some kind of disorder that makes them buy everything that plays video games.

Alas.

It’s because Japan doesn’t want something that is going to break in 2 days (True Story x6).

You bastards… Imagine all the men, women, and children in Japan who won’t be able to play this game! All two of them will be left wondering, “Huh…?” I hope you feel proud of yourself, Kojima productions. You just secluded an entire fanbase… of two xbox gamers people in Japan.
