Andriasang Shutting Down

This is one of those good news/bad news kinds of things: Anoop Gantayat, a former writer for IGN who started the English language, Japan-focused video game news site Andriasang, is moving on to a new, as-yet unannounced venture.

Said Gantayat:

“I’ve decided to take up a new opportunity that will hopefully keep me really busy, so I will be ceasing daily updates. I may do some database-driven stuff and technology tests, but I won’t be doing articles or updates. The site’s archive and comments will remain in place, so you can still consult old content.”

This is a shame, but presumably it’s good news for Gantayat. Over the year that I’ve been working on this site, Andriasang has been a pretty regular and reliable resource for great news in the Land of the Rising Sun. According to a post on GamesIndustry, the site’s been going steadily since 2008. So, you know, four years running one website is probably a good time to call it a day.

Good luck, Mr. Gantayat. Thanks for all the great resources!
