XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the turn-based strategy title from Firaxis, is taking a slightly more unique approach to pre-order bonuses. The bonus received from a pre-order is fully determined by the number of folks that decide to pre-order the game on Steam, with the bonuses getting bigger and better as pre-orders reach higher tiers.

At the first and lowest tier, all pre-orders will come with the Elite Soldier Pack, which includes a classic XCOM soldier, soldier deco packs and full color customization options. At the second tier, pre-orders will include three XCOM-themed items for use in Valve’s ever-popular Team Fortress 2, that being crafty hair, a Badlands alien hat for the Pyro, and the “Vigilant Pin.”

At the third and final tier, all pre-orders will come with a full copy of Civilization 5 – not bad, right?

No matter what tier is hit, XCOM: Enemy Unknown sits contently at $50 asking price on Steam. The game launches on October 9, so pre-order soon if you’re gonna!
