An HD version of the original PS2 shooter, Killzone, was all set to be released on the PlayStation Network in January this year, but was scrapped. Fortunate for fans of the game, it’s been resurrected and thrust into a three-pack, now called Killzone Trilogy, set for release on the PlayStation 3 on October 23 (and on October 24 in Europe).

The collection will include Killzone, Killzone 2, and Killzone 3 (makes sense for a trilogy), along with all of the latter two games’ extra content:

Killzone 2 Map Pack Bundle

  • Steel & Titanium Map Pack
  • Flash & Thunder Map Pack
  • Napalm & Cordite Map Pack

Killzone 3 Map Pack Bundle

  • Killzone 3 Steel Rain Map Pack
  • Killzone 3 Retro Map Pack
  • Killzone 3 From The Ashes Map Pack

Forty bucks will get you the set. May I suggest this tagline? “Get in the zone…THE KILL ZONE!”

Something like that. I’m clearly very, very clever.

Now…some screens!

So that’s why they pulled the first Killzone from the PSN market.
