BF3 “Armored Kill” Expansion Release Schedule Announced
This morning, Electronic Arts and DICE published a press release to officially announce the release schedule for the latest expansion to Battlefield 3, “Armored Kill” (whereas prior to this, the full schedule was only implied and hinted at). Battlefield Premium members who game on the PS3 will be able to download the new content first, starting, well, uh, today.
After that, Xbox and PC gaming Premium members will get it on September 11. For the non-members out there, the expansion will first be available on the PlayStation 3 on September 18, with Xbox 360 and PC gamers having access on September 25. Phew!
The Armored Kill pack will offer up four new multiplayer maps, “including the biggest map in Battlefield history,” six additional vehicles, more than 20 unlocakables, and the “Tank Superiority” mode, described thusly:
“…two opposing tank platoons must battle it out for control of a single location on the map until one team has fully bled their opponent’s respawn tickets dry.”
Oh, so, just like real war, then.
The press release also mentions that getting in on the Battlefield Premium goodness costs $49.99 (or 4000 Microsoft Moon Money Points), and that it gives gamers not only early access to the content, but all of the DLC for Battlefield 3, each of which costs $14.99 separately. So if you’re serious about getting all the expansions, it doesn’t make much sense NOT to go Premium.
