Earlier today during Hideo Kojima’s “introspective” Metal Gear panel at PAX Prime, he ,alongside Konami, showcased a jaw-dropping trailer of the newly announced open-world Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. This 10-minute demo showcases not only the new game, but also the highly-hyped Fox Engine that runs it all, the same engine that Kojima himself hasn’t spoken much of since last year’s E3.

It seems the wait was well worth it.

Do take note that the above trailer is composed of real-time footage, not pre-rendered tomfoolery, as Kojima was quick to point out at the panel this afternoon. It is not, however, running on any particular console like a PS3 or Xbox 360, but is rather running on a PC rig that is of “similar spec,” Kojima mentioned.

We’ve yet to be told how “similar” the specs really are, because it looks really dang fantastic, but we’ll reserve judgement for a later date.

So, without further ado, watch the video and let us know your thoughts. Are you impressed by Snake’s performance?

Was it… solid?

Wow that was amazing. I’ve never seen this level of storytelling in video games….maybe I should play the MGS games.

Just a heads a up, hope you don’t mind cut-scenes because there’s a lot of them.
